Neglect
Neglect is failure to properly care for a nursing home resident in a manner consistent with the standard of care. It can be the failure to avoid harm and pain to a resident, or the failure to react to a situation which may be harmful to the person. Neglect may result from the failure to bathe, feed, provide medication, or tend to the basic needs of a resident.
