Community Involvement

Theodoros & Rooth is proud to support the Hospice of the Calumet Area by sponsoring the "Hospice Hustle," a bicycle ride fundraiser event held in Lake County, Indiana. Theodoros & Rooth has sponsored this event for the last three years. The hospice provides quality end-of-life care and has a team of skilled nurses, clergy, social workers, and volunteers who work together with the patient, his or her family, as well as their physician to ensure a peaceful and comfortable end of life.
The 2007 Hospice Hustle Bicycle Tour took place on September 23, 2007 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana. Theodoros & Rooth also contributed to sponsoring the 2008 Hospice ride.
In August 2007, Barry again participated in the MS100 event in Bloomington, Indiana, to raise funds for the Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Barry and his cycling buddies (including Merrillville opthalmologist, Dr. David Gross, who has raised over $20,000 a year for the past several years), rode 100 miles in the heat and hills south of the Indiana University campus. "Providing accurate, up-to-date information to individuals with MS, their families, and healthcare providers" is central to the Society's mission. Theodoros Rooth supports the Indiana Chapter, not only because of its effective efforts to raise awareness of and to provide information about this life-altering disease, but also because a very large portion of donated dollars go directly to furthering the Society's mission, as opposed to funding administrative costs and expenses. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with MS, we urge you to contact the Chapter directly at 800-344-4867, or on the web at www.nationalMSsociety.org/ini.
